Foods that Boost Hair Growth

Spinach has many nutrients and vitamins. Vitamins vital for hair growth and found in abundance in spinach are Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamins A and C are essential for the body to produce sebum, while Vitamin E is an antioxidant that boosts scalp circulation, which is needed for healthy hair growth.


Carrots are a source of vitamin A, which helps promote general scalp health. Carrots also play a role in sebum production, much like spinach, and a diet rich in carrots can lead to faster hair growth through healthy sebum production.


Another good food that contributes to not only healthy hair but to overall well-being is nuts. Nuts like almonds, cashews and walnuts are enriched with Vitamin E, essential proteins and iron. The vitamins obtained from almonds prevent hair loss and keeps the hair root stronger. It also improves blood circulation in the scalp, thereby promoting hair growth. Zinc obtained from cashews, walnuts, almonds prevent hair loss largely, and the alpha linolenic acid found in walnuts act as great natural conditioners for the hair.



Whole grains are enriched with Vitamin B, iron and zinc, which are all necessary for stimulating the production of hair proteins. It also improves blood circulation, promotes hair growth, and reduces hair loss. Thus, include whole wheat breads, cereals or a whole grain snack in your diet.

Lentils is another good source of vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients, lentils provide proteins that help in hair growth.





Asparagus stimulates hair production and is one of the best super foods for balding.

Avocados contain B vitamins, beta-carotene, copper, vitamin E, vitamin C, and healthy fats, all of which are essential for healthy hair and growth.

Chickpeas are a very good source of protein, vitamin B6 and Zinc. Protein is needed for hair growth, and zinc and vitamin A work together to prevent dandruff and hair loss.
